100 km Event

Course Outline:

The ride starts off with a very pleasant ride from the Broadwater Parklands down past the beautiful beaches from Surfers Paradise through to Miami before heading inland to Mudgeeraba. It’s at this point that the tempo picks up as the riders head north through Highland Park, Mount Nathan and Pimpana where it is 30 klms of gruelling hills – one after another – until riders get to the 80 km mark where it returns to a more even level once again right through to the finish line back at Broadwater Parklands.

There are two Rating 5 climbs on the event. The first is around the 38 km mark with a length of 2.81 km and an average grade of 3%. The second is at the 44 km mark  with a length of 2.40 km and an average grade of 2.7%.

What do you need to know?

Start Location: Southport Broadwater Parklands opposite Nerang Street mall. The actual start area will be near the Patio Area – see diagram on the Home Page.

Registrations Open: 5.30 am

Rider Briefing: 6.15 am

Event Start Time: 6.30 am

Water Stations: There will be four water stations located throughout the course as follows:

  • at 20 kms – Robina Cricket Club Park at the corner of Robina Town Centre Drive and Cheltenham Drive, Robina
  • at 36 kms – Gilston Community Hall area on Gilston Road just before Latimers Crossing Road
  • at 58 kms – Highland Reserve Road State School on Reserve Road; and
  • at 80 kms – Beattie Rd Coomera near the Coomera Primary drop off area

Fruit will also be provided to maintain energy levels.

Cost: $70 for an individual or $65 each for a team of four riders that includes water and fruit at the water station and finish lines and a bacon and egg burger at the finish.


The GC100 is not a “closed road event” and all riders must accept the event terms and conditions.

Participants must bring their event receipt on the morning to confirm participation and rider ID. 

The event course will have the following;

  • Marshalls at most major intersections to indicate direction and provide traffic awareness. All roundabouts that require riders to go left or right will have marshalls so if no marshall is in attendance, proceed straight through the roundabout.
  • Mobile “Bicycle Mechanics” for minor bike repairs
  • Course signage at designated points, participants must also familiarize themselves with route
  • Course markers indicating km’s and km’s to next rest stop and relay changeover area
